Breastfeeding and Formula Support

Ensuring your baby is fed, happy, and healthy is our top priority, be that with breastfeeding support or formula support.

It’s easy to get lost in the sea of information of what method is best and become discouraged, but our philosophy is ‘fed is best’ here at NightOwl Nursing. Our goal is to ensure you transition to this new phase of your life as easy as possible with as much support as we can provide.

Our team boasts thousands of hours of experience with breastfeeding techniques and best practices as well as formula-based hands-on knowledge.

Our Process

After the initial consultation, our breastfeeding, pumping, and formula support services continue for as long as you need to get comfortable.

Our feeding services can run concurrently with night nursing services or as a standalone service.

How you feed your baby is a personal journey and choice, and we’re here to help support you through the method that works best for parent and child.

Breastfeeding and Formula Support

On Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is a polarizing topic. For many breastfeeding parents, there are minimal issues, and for many others, it can be a frustrating journey. Breastfeeding often requires a lot of practice for both parent and baby, and it’s often full of ups and downs in progress.

Having a night nurse that is not only an RN, but experienced with postpartum care and breastfeeding best practices is invaluable. A night nurse can provide proper latching techniques, help cultivate a feeding schedule, provide advice and support when pumping, provide lactation advice, and observe at your request to offer support.

On Formula and Pump Feeding

Many consider formula feeding to be either a backup or alternative to breastfeeding if breastfeeding is not an option, but this feeding method is just as valid as breastfeeding - even if you do not have issues with breastfeeding.

In that vein, a lactating parent may be able to produce milk, but not wish to pursue breastfeeding.

Our night nurses provide advice on suitable formula brands, provide advice on feeding schedules, and provide support and assistance when pumping.
